A creative studio ethos where thinking intersects with writing practice. More process than finished artefact, Imagined Spaces is our way of learning.
‘Build into the Blue’
(Ernst Bloch)
We see writing as making and thinking; thinking as a means of making writing. We value encounters as exchanges, initiating conversations with artists and writers, scientists and architects, and all kinds of people from all walks of life to explore what it means to be alive today.
This to us is ‘essaying’—to be open to uncertainty and questioning, to trust instinct and imagination, to follow a line of enquiry in writing to wherever it leads at whatever age and from whatever background. To be less risk-adverse and more creative in all our understandings, learning to ‘build into the blue’.
